Talkdesk WAV Greeting Checker
Talkdesk supports MP3 and WAV files for greetings and transcodes uploaded audio to its 8 kHz mono μ-law telephony format. IVRReady currently validates the WAV path, checks the audio locally, and identifies whether a WAV already matches the telephony format.
Scope: Talkdesk prerecorded greetings — WAV workflow
IVRReady is an independent third-party validator and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or certified by Talkdesk.

Greeting upload and playback behavior
Talkdesk documents MP3 and WAV as greeting upload types. IVRReady currently accepts only the WAV path and proves it by reading the RIFF/WAVE structure—not by trusting a filename or MIME type.

Upload acceptance
A structurally valid WAV greeting is vendor-accepted in this profile regardless of sample rate, channel count, or WAV encoding. Decoder or local-correction limitations remain separate from Talkdesk acceptance. MP3 intake is not implemented in IVRReady.
Telephony playback and transcoding
Talkdesk says any uploaded audio is transcoded to its fixed 8-bit mono μ-law, 8,000 Hz telephony standard. IVRReady therefore records platform conversion as expected for every accepted WAV, including one that already matches those values. Canonical status means no local normalization is needed; it does not claim Talkdesk bypasses transcoding.
10 MB guidance
The cited audio best-practices guidance says to make sure a file does not exceed 10 MB. It does not establish a hard generic greeting-upload rejection limit, so IVRReady surfaces the guidance without changing compatibility or excluding a valid WAV solely because of size.
What IVRReady builds
Every accepted WAV is copied byte-for-byte. A 48 kHz stereo PCM source is Ready—not Fixable—because Talkdesk accepts WAV and performs the platform conversion. This pack does not load FFmpeg or offer optional local normalization.
IVRReady audio QA
Existing signal QA reports effective silence, possible clipping, leading silence, and trailing silence where the WAV encoding is decodable. QA unsupported is an IVRReady decoder boundary, not a Talkdesk incompatibility.
Scope boundaries
This pack covers prerecorded Talkdesk greetings through IVRReady’s WAV workflow. It does not validate MP3 inputs, AAC, hold music, inbound/outbound tones, Agent Workspace voicemail greetings, Digital Engagement attachments, Conversation Orchestrator streams, AI Agent audio, tenant permissions, or successful upload.
